Stearic Acid

Stearic Acid is a long-chain saturated fatty acid with applications. It occurs naturally in both plant and animal fats.

Chemical Formula: C₁₈H₃₆O₂

Appearance:  A white, waxy solid with a mild odor.

Uses:

• Pharmaceuticals: Stearic acid is used as an excipient or tablet lubricant in pharmaceutical formulations to improve flowability and compressibility.

• Cosmetic and personal care Industry: Acts as an emulsifying agent or emollient to stabilize formulations, improve texture, and enhance skin feel

• Thickener and Emulsifier: A common ingredient in creams, lotions, soaps, and shampoos.

• Binder and Lubricant: It is used as a binder and lubricant in tablet and capsule formulations.

• Rubber Industry: It is used in some rubber products as a lubricant and mold release agent.
