A Story Worth Knowing

Born in Jackson Heights, Queens, Allan was the youngest of four children.  He graduated from Clarkson University in 1971 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Early in his career, Allan was introduced to the industry through his job in the mailroom at a large chemical company.  From there he went on to manage an office in Asia where he learned about international trade and cultivated a passion for food and culture. It was through those experiences that Allan dreamed of having a company that represented his values. Years later, with a family of his own, Allan saw the opportunity to start his own company utilizing the strong relationships and knowledge he gained along the way. In 1984, Allan Chemical Corporation was established in Fort Lee, New Jersey.
