Sodium Borohydride (NaBH₄) is a versatile inorganic compound with reducing agent properties widely used in industries. It is a great reducing agent used in chemical reactions and processes.

Uses:

• Chemical Synthesis: It acts as a powerful reducing agent in organic synthesis reactions to convert carbonyl groups (aldehydes, ketones) to alcohols and is used in hydrometallurgical processes for the recovery of precious metals, such as gold and silver, from their ores.

• Pharmaceutical Industry: Generally used in the synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and drug intermediates for the production of pharmaceutical drugs. It acts as a reducing agent in the formulation of pharmaceutical drugs, including antiviral medications and antidepressants.

• Bleaching Agent: It is used in the pulp and paper industry as a bleaching agent and deinking agent for recycled paper.

• Cleaning Agent: It is used in homemade cleaning solutions for  surfaces.
