Aluminum Sulfate

Aluminum Sulfate is a chemical compound commonly known as Alum or cake alum. It is an inorganic salt that is soluble in water and has industrial, agricultural, and consumer applications due to its ability to form stable complexes, precipitate impurities, and adjust pH levels.

Appearance: White to slightly yellowish, Odorless crystalline powder.

Uses:

• Pharmaceuticals: Aluminum Sulfate is used in pharmaceuticals and antacid formulations to neutralize stomach acid, and alleviate symptoms of acid indigestion, heartburn, and upset stomach. It serves as an active ingredient or excipient in oral medications, antacid tablets, and liquid antacid suspensions.

• Cosmetics and Personal Care Products: Used in cosmetics formulations and personal care products, including deodorants, and antiperspirants, for its astringent, antiseptic, and skin tightening properties.

• Textile Industry: In the textile industry, aluminum sulfate can be used as a mordant or dye-fixing agent to improve dye absorption, enhance color fastness, and optimize dyeing processes. It helps create vibrant, long-lasting, and fade-resistant colors on textiles and fabrics.

• Additional Applications: It serves as a stabilizer or coagulant in food processing, beverage production, and food preservation applications. In addition, it also acts as a soil acidifier or pH adjuster to lower soil pH and improves soil acidity.
