Manganese Chloride tetrahydrate, also known as manganous chloride.  Absorbs moisture from the air and is highly soluble in water.
Chemical Formula: MnCl₂·4H₂O
Appearance: Pale pink to light rose-colored crystals or crystalline powder.
Uses:
Chemical Synthesis: It serves as a precursor or starting material for the synthesis of manganese-containing compounds. It is used in organic and inorganic chemical synthesis, coordination chemistry, and industrial processes to prepare manganese-based materials, catalysts, and reagents.
Catalysis: It is generally used to electroplate manganese coatings onto metal substrates through electrodeposition techniques. Manganese coatings provide corrosion resistance and decorative finishes to metallic surfaces.
Nutraceuticals: It may be incorporated into certain pharmaceutical formulations and nutritional supplements to provide supplemental manganese. These supplements can help maintain adequate manganese levels in the body and support overall health.
Additional Applications: In the textile industry, manganese chloride tetrahydrate is used as a mordant or fixing agent in dyeing processes.
